Applies To: Work 365 Self-Service Portal, Admin Hub, portal URL configuration
Overview
You can view or update the Self-Service Portal URL in Work 365 → Administration → Admin Hub → Portal. Work 365 documents this area as the place where you paste the portal URL, and its custom-domain guidance says that if you use a custom domain, you should enter that custom domain in this same field. Work 365 also states that once you save the value, the Self-Service Portal and Work 365 are linked.
Before You Begin
You need access to the Work 365 app and permission to update Admin Hub settings. Work 365’s Admin Hub portal configuration article lists Access to Work 365 App as the prerequisite for this task.
Resolution
Step 1: Open the Portal settings in Work 365
In Work 365, use the area selector in the lower-left corner and switch to Administration.
Select Admin Hub.
Select Portal.
Step 2: Locate the Portal Website URL field
Find Portal Website URL. Work 365’s custom-domain guidance uses this field name when instructing admins where to paste the updated portal address.
Step 3: View or update the portal URL
View the current portal URL or update it with the correct portal address. Work 365’s Admin Hub configuration article says to paste the Self-Service Portal URL here, and its custom-domain guidance says to use the custom domain in this field after custom-domain setup is complete.
Step 4: Save the change
Select Save. Work 365 states that once saved, the Self-Service Portal and Work 365 are linked.
Important Note
If you are using a custom domain, enter that custom domain in Portal Website URL. Work 365’s custom-domain article also instructs admins to enter the new custom URL including https://. Work 365 further notes that after custom-domain setup is complete, the portal can continue to work on the old base URL as well as the new custom URL, so updating this field is an important final step.
Troubleshooting
Users are still being sent to the old portal address
Review the value in Portal Website URL, update it if needed, and save the change. Work 365 notes that after custom-domain setup, the portal can still work on the old base URL in addition to the new custom URL, which is why this Admin Hub field should be updated after the domain change is complete.
You are not sure which URL should be entered
Use the URL your users are expected to access. Work 365’s Admin Hub configuration guidance says to paste the Self-Service Portal URL here, and its custom-domain guidance says to use the custom domain when one has been configured.
